Half-term. Time off work and I got the chance to go a little further afield than normal – time for a mini rather than microadventure.
The destination – Snowdonia.
The Route – climb Tryfan then complete a traverse of the Glyders range. Descend into the valley then climb up onto the Carnedd range, wild camping somewhere on route.
The Weather forecast – 80% change of cloud free summits things looked good.
Heavy rain moved in.
Visibility on the tops – about 15 metres.
Went off route on the way up and down. Terrain was technical, but great fun.
The decision: descend to the valley. With discretion being the better part of valour, I returned to the car and headed to a hotel.
So, quite a different kind of adventure for this month’s changing of the clocks!.
